REACH Policy & Statement

Amphenol RF is a supplier of Articles only, as defined by the European Union’s REACH Regulation and is not required to register with the European Chemicals Industry (ECHA). We have engaged in an ongoing survey of our products and vendors to ensure Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC) are not present in our products.

The candidate list of SVHCs has been published on the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) website since 28th October 2008 and is regularly updated. Based on these updates, we are continuously reviewing our products to determine if substances included on the candidate list are contained in our products or in a concentration above 0.1 % (by weight).

Please contact us regarding the REACH status of our products.

Conflict Minerals Policy

The ores from which gold, tantalum, tin and tungsten are derived, that come from the Democratic Republic of Congo and adjoining nearby countries (including Angola, Burundi, Central African Republic, The Republic of the Congo, Rwanda, South Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda, and Zambia), which support the on-going conflicts in that region, are referred to herein as Conflict Minerals. It is believed that the proceeds of mining Conflict Minerals may contribute to armed conflict and human rights abuses. In support of initiatives to cut financing for this armed conflict and human rights abuses and in compliance with the regulations applicable to publicly traded companies, Amphenol RF has implemented programs and practices that are intended to:

  • Confirm with reasonable certainty that the gold, tantalum, tin and tungsten purchased from suppliers and used in products are derived from conflict free sources
  • Maintain, as necessary and appropriate, records of supplier verifications for both internal and/or external audit
  • Assign internal roles and responsibilities and provide appropriate staff training to manage these programs and practices
  • Communicate the Company's efforts, as necessary and appropriate, to stakeholders

California's Proposition 65

In compliance with California’s Proposition 65 (Prop65) legal regulation, officially named the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986, all companies selling or distributing consumer products in or into California are required to inform consumers of possible exposure to chemicals listed by the State of California as being known to cause cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm. Proposition 65 has resulted in certain consumer products bearing various warning labels over the years, however, recent changes to California’s regulations has resulted in the requirement of products to bear a warning on the product packaging.

Warnings consist of language drafted by the State of California and are required for products produced after August 30, 2018 containing any of the nearly 900 substances listed by the State of California. Common substances found in products are Lead (Pb) as an alloying element or Nickel (Ni) incorporated into surface coatings.

Amphenol RF wants to reassure customers that these State mandated warnings, as per the State of California, are “not the same as a regulatory decision that a product is ‘safe’ or ‘unsafe’". (ref: State of California, Department of Justice, Office of the Attorney General website: Proposition 65 Enforcement Reporting/Frequently Asked Questions – “I just bought a consumer product that has a Proposition 65 warning. Is it unsafe?” {www.oag.ca.gov/prop65/faq})

For more information about Proposition 65, the listed chemicals and the warning requirements, please visit California’s Proposition 65 web page.
