RF Cable Assemblies

RF Cable Assemblies

Amphenol RF offers a robust portfolio of coaxial cables assemblies for use in radio frequency applications. These assemblies are available for all industry standard coax cable types engineered with in-series (similar) or between-series (dissimilar) interfaces, or in some cases an unterminated or blunt cut end on one side of the assembly.

Coaxial cable assemblies are an ideal solution for transmitting RF signals from one connection to the next within a system. They are most often used to connect a Printed Circuit Board (PCBs) to other PCBs but can also be used for I/O connections and to connect external antennas to wireless modules. Assemblies can vary in length from 0.98 inches (25 mm) to 1200 inches (100 feet) with various configurations (female (jack) to female, male (plug) to male, female to male, male to female), orientation (straight, right-angle) and mounting (bulkhead) options. These attributes, along with unique design features, allow standard assemblies to meet the specific design requirements of various applications across markets.

Our line of high-performance precision test cables (ATC-PS) feature additional phase stable and low loss capabilities which makes them ideal for test and measurement laboratory usage. Custom cable assemblies are available and offer a more tailored solution than standard products. For more information, contact us or visit: QuickBuild RF.

Selecting an RF Coaxial Cable Assembly

When selecting a RF Coaxial Cable Assembly, there might be specific characteristics you may want to consider:

Cable Type

RF coaxial cable assemblies are available on all industry-standard coax cable types.

  • Micro-Coax Cable

Micro coaxial cable types are a high-reliability, high-sensitivity solution. They are engineered with an extremely small outer diameter (OD) which makes this cable ideal for applications with limited space for cable routing.

  • Flexible Cable

Flexible cable types are designed with either a stranded center conductor which requires repeated flexing or a solid conductor if low-loss performance is required. They are available with double braiding, sometimes referred to as double shielding, with configurations that include most standard RF connector types. Flexible coax cables are ideal for high-speed data and video transmission applications.

  • Conformable Semi-Rigid Cable

Conformable cable types are a flexible, malleable alternative to more rigid coaxial cables. They can be stripped and formed by hand without any special tools being required. These cables are available in a wide variety of configurations including most industry standard RF connectors. Conformable cable is ideal for applications that require a high-quality solution with no signal loss caused by the manipulation of the cable.
