While a 50 ohm connector may physically mate with a 75 ohm connector, it is not recommended to mix impedances. Doing so creates an impedance mismatch that can increase reflections, raise VSWR and reduce signal integrity. The impact of this mismatch is more pronounced at higher frequencies and over longer cable runs.
