Amphenol RF offers a wide range of connectors that range in size from ultraminiature for applications such as mobile handsets and wearable devices to large form factor connectors designed for high power transmissions. We categorize each RF connector interface into one of 6 categories. Those categories are listed below.
Ultraminiature connectors provide consistent 50 Ohm RF performance to 6 GHz without sacrificing space on a PCB. The mounting footprint of these connectors are no greater than 3 mm, with mating heights as low as 1.2 mm. Cable Assemblies use micro-coaxial cable, and pre-configured configurations of Ultraminiature plugs to other common RF series are available for easy integration. The snap-on coupling is ideal for assembly within small applications, such as RFID products, GPS units, and handheld devices.
With robust, compact designs, our space-saving microminiature coax connectors are engineered for high-performance. With a wide range of cable compatibility options, our connectors are ideal for applications requiring high density, reliability, and reduced size and weight. Push-on coupling mechanisms and detent options also provide easy assembly, and aid in blindmate and board to board applications. RF performance varies by series, with options working to 65 GHz in some optimized cases, and primarily 50 Ohm. Some series have 75 Ohm designs as well. Applications include Aerospace and Military Radio, Test & Measurement, Instrumentation, Medical, and Broadband.
Subminiature connectors include high-strength designs for harsh environments and are available for use with PCB’s and a wide range of cables including both flexible, low–loss (LMR), semi-rigid and conformable cables for 50 Ohm and 75 Ohm applications. Threaded and push-on coupling mechanisms are available with frequencies of up to 36 GHz supported in some models. Applications include Antennas, Base stations, Instrumentation, Telecom, Test & Measurement, Automotive, Microwave and 5G wireless applications. These are commonly used where size reduction, minimum attenuation, and low VSWR are required.
Miniature connectors are design to work with a wide range of coaxial cables, and are available with threaded, push-on, and bayonet couplings. 50 Ohm and 75 Ohm options exist for many of the series in this size category, and frequency ranges of up to 18 GHz are supported in some models. Ruggedized and IP67 waterproof design are also available in some series. Typical applications include Broadcast, Broadband, Antennas, Base Stations, and Military communication equipment.
Standard size connectors accommodate a wide range of medium to miniature sized coaxial cables in a rugged medium size design, and are available with threaded, push-on, and bayonet couplings. Extended frequency ranges of up to 18 GHz are supported in some models. Typical applications include Antennas, Base Stations, Broadcast, Satcom, Test equipment, LANs, Satellite, and Military communication equipment.
Available for a wide variety of cable types, with threaded and push-on coupling mechanisms. Models are available to support high power applications, and low PIM performance. Many are Waterproof when mated. Applications include Wireless Infrastructure, Lightning Protection, Base Stations, Satellite Communications, and Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS), MIMO Antennas, Small Cells, Mobile Networks.
