RF Connectors

Amphenol RF has the industry’s largest portfolio of interconnect solutions suited to deliver reliable signal integrity for PCB, cable and antenna systems.

Overview

Amphenol RF delivers reliable signal integrity with coaxial connectors and engineered interfaces for PCB, cable and antenna systems across wireless infrastructure, broadcast, instrumentation, industrial and mobile markets, from ultraminiature PCB mounted connectors to high-power designs for cables and board-to-board transitions.

RF Connector Features and Design

These RF connectors cover 50 Ω and 75 Ω impedances with select 78 Ω, 100 Ω and non-constant impedance options, frequency ranges from DC to 40 GHz and beyond in selected series and coupling styles such as threaded, bayonet, push-on, snap-on abd blind mate for secure, tool-free mating in high-vibration environments. Form factors range from ultraminiature to large for high-power, low-loss needs, with rugged sealed options including large-form 7-16 series with IP-rated protection and terminations for flexible, semi-rigid and conformable cables plus SMT, through-hole, end-launch and board-to-board PCB connections.

RF Connector Technical Specifications

Typical impedance is 50 Ω with many 75 Ω or other versions to match available to match system or cable requirements, while frequency performance is connector-series dependent with standard models covering DC to 6 GHz, 18 GHz, 26 GHz, 40 GHz or higher depending on design and cable interface. Mating cycles vary by series and termination style, ultraminiature types often support fewer cycles than rugged large-form designs, and many connectors operate from about -65 °C to +165 °C with special options such as quick-mate, push-on or snap-on interaces, threaded couplings and IP67/IP68 sealed variants for outdoor use.

RF Connector Applications and Markets

Amphenol RF connectors are used in wireless infrastructure including base stations, small cells, distributed antenna systems and MIMO architectures; broadcast and video systems including 12G SDI; test and measurement and other precision instrumentation; and rugged industrial and transportation systems. Board-to-board and board-to-cable RF interconnects support compact devices, medical equipment, aerospace platforms and other high-density electronics. The full Amphenol RF connector portfolio can be explored by impedance, form factor, coupling style or application, or work with our global engineering team to develop custom RF interconnect solutions tailored to your specifications.
