Non-Magnetic End Launch MCX Connector
Non-Magnetic End Launch MCX Connector
Non-magnetic MCX end-launch connectors are designed for RF systems where interaction with surrounding magnetic fields and magnetic interference are critical considerations. Constructed with non-ferrous materials, the connector is well suited for medical imaging applications such as MRI systems, where magnetic components can interact with powerful magnetic fields and potentially interfere with image quality. The compact MCX interface also allows multiple connectors to be positioned within a small area along the edge of a printed circuit board (PCB), making it ideal for wireless modules, including GPS and Wi-Fi applications.
The non-magnetic MCX jack provides 50-ohm performance up to 6 GHz and features a push-on coupling mechanism for fast and easy mating and unmating. This interface supports a minimum durability of 500 mating cycles for applications requiring repeated connections. The connector is manufactured with a gold-plated beryllium copper body and center contact, and a PTFE insulator. An “NM” marking stamped on the connector provides clear visual identification of its non-magnetic construction.
